RYB 962 My $30k Per Month Business Idea (Why I decided Not To Do It)

Welcome! I’m so happy to have you here. Today we’re going to be doing a follow-up to episode 959. It was a coaching call I did with someone I recently met, and we talked about how he can grow his business. I actually broke down a business plan for him on how he could get more local customers using paid search.

It’s actually much more simple than you might think. During our conversation, we also talked about how the strategy I was sharing with him could be a business itself. There are a lot of business owners looking for help to grow their business and want to hire someone to help them. So we’re going to cover that in more detail today.

I also shared this in one of our most recent coffee talks as well. If you want to join us live, you should join us at takeactioncrew.com. I jump on three times a week and hang out with some incredible people. I also share anything I think would be useful to help others grow their own business. It’s totally free and a great way to meet like-minded people who are growing their own businesses.

Use The Basics of Marketing To Your Advantage

I’m going to explain it’s possible to make $30,000 a month with a business idea I recently came up with. However, I’m also going to share with you how difficult this type of business would be to run. There is a lot involved in running this type of business, and it’s much more work that I don’t want to deal with.

So, I have decided that I would never run this type of business. I’ll explain in more detail shortly. It’s not all glorious and glamorous. You have to remember that. There are a lot of headaches that would be involved. However, after you finish reading, I’ll let you decide if this is something you might want to pursue.

The main thing I want you to take away from today’s episode is that once you learn and apply what you’ve learned, you’re building a skillset you can use in the future. Everything that you take the time to learn today can be used in your future endeavors. It may not be for the same business you have today, but you’ll never use the skillset you build today, keep that in mind.

For example, when you create your first piece of content, you’ve learned a skill that will never go away. You’ll only get better from here. In the future, you would create content for others and create a business. There are so many possibilities. Or at least you’ll be able to use your writing skills in your own business and other endeavors in the future.

Years ago, I started trying to figure out how to get people to my photography studio. I had to learn the basics. Back then, there weren’t very many online tools that I could use. During that time, the goal was to get people to give us their email addresses.

We actually used to collect emails in a giant fishbowl. We would do a giveaway for our photography services, and people would write down their email in order to enter to win. From there, we would email people. Now we build our email list a little differently, but it’s a very similar concept.

Marketing is marketing, although the platforms have changed. Your messaging will still be the same. I use the same concepts that I learned way back when and I have been able to improve my methods over time with practice.

My Eye-Opening Conversation About Paid Search

Recently my daughter participated in a beach volleyball tournament down in Florida. While we were there, I met the father of the girl that my daughter was partnered with. He asked if we could get coffee and talk about his business.

In fact, he is an insurance broker and is looking for ways to grow his business. He also wants to find ways to bring in higher-end clients that have more stuff to insure. Most of his clients are going to be local, and he wasn’t sure of the best way to target his audience. This is what we chatted about.

Throughout our conversation, I was formulating in my head what I would do to grow his business if it were me. As we talked, I also shared my thoughts with him. I started out by recommending that he should create three to five videos featuring pain points that potential clients had. They can be fairly short, but he has to be on camera. This is the marketing side of things that would help him appear relatable to his audience and connect with people.

Once he gets that done, I would recommend that he take those videos and run a local Facebook ad within a 25-minute radius. I would suggest he blast it out, and he would be able to reach everyone locally. Once he gets people engaged. He could focus on retargeting ads. It’s actually really cheap to run local Facebook ads, so that is what I would start with.

Most people don’t know how to market their business. After talking with this person, it surprised me that as a successful business person, he didn’t know about paid search and a lot of the other suggestions I made.

My $30,000 Per Month Business Idea

If I wanted to create an agency, I could make at least $30,000 a month. I could easily charge each business $3,000 a month to run their Facebook ads. It would be a super basic technique and could get everything set up pretty quickly.

In fact, the person that I was making these suggestions to probably knows several other people that he could recommend me to. I could tap into his network and easily make a business out of this. Don’t ever underestimate the importance of networking and meeting new business owners. It could go a long way.

To get started, I would just need a campaign set up, run the ads and see what happens. From there, I would just need to dial in the messaging and create a few new pieces of content for remarketing and new ads.

If you had a business like this, you could even have a few different packages set up. That way, you could reach people who are looking for help with specific aspects of creating ads and people who want help doing it all. The possibilities are endless.

Like I said earlier, I’m not going to start this type of business, and one of the main reasons is because I’m focused on Brand Creator’s Academy. I don’t want to be tied to helping other businesses. I have a lot of other stuff going on, and it’s a huge commitment. When you’re working with companies, there is a lot of pressure to help them perform, and it can take a lot of time and work.

However, if something happened where I lost everything, I would do something like this. It would be fairly easy to get started, especially with my expertise. I just don’t want to go down that road if I don’t have to. And right now, there is no reason that I do.

I wanted to share this with you, though, because I want you to see that because I have been in the trenches and learned all the different aspects of marketing, I am now valuable to other businesses. They are willing to hire me to help them grow their own business because I’ve done it several times in the past. This is why you should always be prepared to learn new things. You never know how it could be beneficial down the road.

The bottom line is that if you are learning and taking action, you are building a skillset with yourself. No one will ever be able to take that away from you. Once you learn how to do something and you do it, you are able to have that skill set. You never know where that is going to take you. I want you to understand that you are learning and doing is valuable.
