    Avid fan of your podcast and listen to it everyday! I have been selling my first product on Amazon for about two months with some struggles not selling a lot of units per day. I want to be at the 10 per day strategy you recommend, however, I think I did not successfully launch the product at first. How can I increase my BSR and sales? I am going to do another giveaway when my new inventory arrives within a week.

    • hey bryan, i would suggest listening to the hotseat episodes where we tear down listings, there’s a lot of useful advice in them that may just be able to help you out 🙂 Also, if you’re not running ppc….you should be

  • Hi Scott,
    I have and found a product and a supplier that I would like to use! I made a few custom changes after receiving my sample and am now trying to figure out shipping. They have not heard of escrow payments but have offered to accept a credit card payment via paypal after I have received the goods. In this a safe way to go in or is an escrow payment still the best way to go?

    • Hey Janelle it can be just as safe as escrow, since you wouldn’t be paying until after you get and inspect the goods. It just depends on how comfortable you are with it 🙂

    the thing is i`ve found my potential product , how can i calculate the margin and shipping cost and such this stuffs?
    if you released any podcast about that matter i`ll be super appreciate if to give me that link

    • Hey Yanoush, your supplier will give you shipping and product costs. Amazon will give you the fees. Then all you do is subtract that stuff from what you’re going to sell ti for.

    I am a 3rd-year physical therapy student in $70,000+ of debt and finally took action and got my first order from China in November 2017! My wife is due in April and I think that responsibility has kicked my provider instinct into high gear! I have used only the cash that I have made and saved from working for my dad (while I have been in graduate school) on what I’m selling on Amazon for his start-up business, QuikCamo. I am using what I learned from your Podcast and TAS FB group, as well as what I learned when I worked for a company that Ty Roney worked for. Ty was my boss and is the man! Things are going okay on Amazon for me, and I’m putting in my second small order tonight before the Chinese New Year hits. I was blessed to find an agent that is really good at working with my small budget.
    I am wrting to you tonight because I have a couple questions about customs taxes, duties and fees.
    My Alibaba agent said that she has to add the shipping cost to bill me through the Alibaba Trade Assurance and therefore has to declare the cost of good on the Proforma Invoice she sent me, as the same amount to customs. My total cost is only $~700 so I don’t think it is a big deal, but in the future when I hopefully can get larger orders, I want to avoid your $1080 shipping error from episode 032.
    I paid through Alibaba Trade Assurance but was never charged or billed for customs. It was at the end of November when I received my order. I believe she used S.F. Express. and according to Google, ” it is a Chinese delivery services company based in Shenzhen, Guangdong, China.” Do I need to contact them about this?
    Question 2: What do I need to do for my agent in order for her to not to have to put the shipping amount? She said if I paid via PayPal then she could do it that way, but then I would have to pay the PayPal fee as well as customs on the smaller cost, of just the product. Hope that all makes sense.

    • Hey Kyle depdning on what your payment terms were, it may have included your duties (if you use something like DDP, it often will), if your shipment made it through customs SOMEONE paid them 🙂

      As far as shipping goes, it should just be on a seperate invoice. Get the pro forma invoice that includes the cost of the goods (so you can accurately display the shipment value to customs) and a second invoice for shipping.
